Sewers in modern plastic materials, properly designed and installed, should require minimal or no maintenance.

cleanouts are required at base of stacks and at each horizontal change of 45^o or more
if more than 1 change in direction in a run of a pipe, only 1 cleanout every 40 ft (12 m) is required
cleanouts should be installed every 75-100 ft (25-30 m)
