The heat loss from steam pipes will generate condensate which must be drained from the system - a table indicating the condensate generated in insulated steam pipes (lb/h per 100 ft)

The diagram and table below can be used to roughly estimates of the condensate load generated in insulated steam pipes at different pressures and sizes.

The condensate load calculations are based on a surrounding temperature 70^oF and 80% efficient insulation. For temperatures at 0^oF the loads should be added approximately 50%.
