The viscosity of a fluid is its resistance to shear or flow, and is a measure of the fluids adhesive/cohesive or frictional properties. The viscosity will arise due to internal molecular friction within a fluid producing the frictional drag effect. There are two related measures of fluid viscosity which are known as dynamic (or absolute) and kinematic viscosity.
The kinematic viscosity for some common fluids at can be found in the table below:
