Splitting ducts to terminals will reduce the sound power level - Lw - transferred to each terminal.

The sound power is reduced according to the amount of air. For similar terminals the attenuation in to each terminal can be found with the diagram below:

Example - Attenuation to Terminals

If a duct is split in four similar terminals the attenuation for each terminal is 6 dB.
